Technical Team Lead/Project Manager

Technical Team Lead/Project Manager - Due to our continued growth
we have an immediate need for a hands-on, Technical Team Lead/Project Manager who
is passionate about their work, enjoys interacting with clients, and is able to
grow and adapt with the ever increasing needs of our business. The primary purpose
of this position is to plan and manage the delivery of database systems solutions
and associated technical services designed to support client business objectives.
This position will be the primary interface with multiple clients and will lead
multiple programming teams to deliver client applications. For each application
this will include systems and project planning, estimating, execution, implementation
and ongoing support. Importantly, this position will also be responsible for programming
team member development which is crucial to our future success. This position provides
tremendous opportunity for growth within the company.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Act as the primary client interface for a defined business area
- Provide strategic, expert advice and consultation on the design and implementation
of specific applications and directly program these applications as required.
- Plan, estimate, track and manage applications systems/projects.
- Work closely with the business functional areas, and external clients and vendors
in defining systems/project priorities, scope, approach, resource requirements,
timing, deliverables and funding.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and affect change required for improvement.
- Provide leadership and direction to the program team and application development
staff.
- Manage vendor and client relationships, service delivery and overall performance.
- Communicate regularly with executive management regarding project status.
JOB SKILLS:
- Programming with SQL Server 2005, SQL stored procedures, user defined functions,
cursors and query batches.
- Database design, development and management
- Interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in graphical or diagram
form while dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Analyzing comprehensive business processes, performing in-depth work analyses, and
developing computer-generated flow charts.
- Analyzing complex problems, interpreting operational needs, and developing integrated,
creative solutions, including development and implementation of short and long-term
goals.
- Interfacing with clients and making effective oral and written presentations
- Developing the skills and capabilities of team members
OTHER SKILLS:
- Excellent prioritization skills including ability to organize resources and establish
priorities for others.
- Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy,
and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively in a team environment
including group facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of project management principles, techniques, and tools including ability
to develop project budgets and projections.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from a top-tier, four-year college or university. Minimum 7 years
of combined technical and business experience. Direct marketing experience within
the Insurance or Finance industry is a strong advantage.
